THE COASTAL CARAVAN (Northern Emirates Tour)

Northern Emirates Tour

The Northern Emirates - Day Tour

Day of Operation: Saturdays

This tour will take you to four of the seven Emirates.  Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain, Ajman and Sharjah will surprise you with their unique natural beauty. Our first destination is Sharjah, the cultural capital of the UAE.  Visit the Maritime Museum that celebrates the region’s maritime heritage and continue to the Heritage area where you have time to browse through the traditional Souk Al Arsa.  We continue to Ajman, the smallest Emirate.  After a visit to the beautifully restored Fort, we drive north along the coast to reach Umm Al Quwain.  Photo-stop at this old Fort,  a former seat of government and residence of the ruling family.  En route to Ras Al Khaimah, we stop at the camel race track.  Our last photo-stop will be at Jazirat Al Hamra.  This is the country’s last remaining traditionally built village and now a ghost-town.

All vehicles are equipped with seat-belts and passengers are requested to wear seat-belts at all times.

All sightseeing tours are conducted by well trained, experienced Tour guides.

Our safaris involve off-road driving across sand dunes as well as off-road tracks in mountain areas. As the drive can be rough in certain given rugged areas we are unable to accept any pregnant women, persons with heart ailments and back or neck problems.

Seats are not pre-allocated. Seating will depend on the order of picking up guests from different locations.

Lightweight summer clothing is suitable for most of the year, but sweaters or jackets may be needed for the winter months, especially in the evenings. Good quality sunglasses are advised and photo-chromatic lenses for those who wear spectacles. Hats or some protection for the head are advisable when in direct sunlight.

  • The United Arab Emirates has conservative dress traditions. Swimwear must be confined to the beach and hotel pools. Men and women should ensure shoulders and knees are covered when in public, especially in souks, shops/malls and villages.
  • Mosque visit & photo-stop dress code: Loose long trousers or long skirts & long sleeves to ankle/wrist. No shorts for men, no tight & transparent clothing. Women must cover their head with a scarf hence we suggest to bring it along.

Normal tourist photography is acceptable, but it is considered offensive to photograph Arab women. It is also courteous to ask permission before photographing men. Photographs of government buildings, police or military installations are not allowed.
