The highlight of Musandam – a full day Dhow Cruise

This excursion will have great appeal for those looking for an unusual outing. Board a traditional Omani Dhow pier side and cruise towards Musandam's longest and most spectacular fjord, often referred to as "Norway of Arabia". Here calm, turquoise waters contrast with creamy white limestone cliffs. Along the way you will pass small fishing villages. Dolphins are often spotted swimming alongside while cruising inside the fjords. The Dhow passes by Telegraph Island, infamous for the British Naval staff succumbing to madness when they were posted to this remote station in the mid-19th Century. The British laid the first telegraph cable here in 1864, running from India to Basra, Iraq and the island was manned for about 5 years. The Dhow will anchor in the vicinity off Telegraph Island, allowing you to swim or just sit back and enjoy light refreshments whilst admiring the breathtaking views of mountains rising in the distance to over 2,000 feet. Then leaving anchorage, conclude this outing with a leisurely cruise back to the pier.

Day 03:

Breakfast at Hotel.

Check out from hotel.

Proceed for a short orientation tour of Khasab This half-day excursion provides an introduction to parts of the Musandam Peninsula and its capital, Khasab. Depart the pier and begin your orientation tour with a picturesque drive towards Khasab Fort. The Portuguese, seeking dominion over the maritime trade in the Straits of Hormuz, built this stronghold in the 17th century to prevent attacks from the sea. Teak wood from India was used for its construction and the roof was fashioned from a mix of palm leaves and clay. A large central tower within its low, crenellated walls is thought to pre-date the fort itself and the entire structure has been extensively restored in the late 20th century. Its location offers excellent views and photo opportunities. From here you will drive to Wadi Tiwi where you could see the pre-historical rock paintings depicting camel, ship, warrior etc.  From here you will continue the drive to Dubai.
